Men's Skincare - the Unspoken Secret
The biggest secret men have in their lives is that they care about their skin just as much as women. Cosmetics and men’s skincare is a common topic of conversation at gyms, spas and even around the office water cooler. In fact, in the past, cosmetics to enhance the beauty of men evolved way ahead of women.
Most men use a variety of cosmetic products such as perfumes, deodorants, moisturizers and ointments to help maintain a healthy and younger looking complexion. However, unlike the previous generation, the men of today are also very interested in anti-aging skincare products. Men despite all their machismo and bravado are still a lot like women. They want to look young and handsome.
Men’s skincare
is now very refined and there are many spas and salons which cater to their needs. For the younger adult male, the skin problems are related to acne and there are a whole host of men’s skincare products which help cure this common problem.
The other cosmetic problem for many men is caused by shaving their facial hair. This age old ritual can become a painful process for some men. The answer is to use a decent shaving cream which is made from natural ingredients to prevent allergies and skin rashes. Shaving lotions containing ingredients like CoQ10 can help the skin look fresh, smooth and younger looking.
For those men who develop frequent irritation and razor burns, there are a number of men’s skincare products that may help. Use of lotions containing Phytessence can help decrease the razor burns. Phytessence Wakame is an extract from a Japanese sea kelp which has been shown to improve the skin texture and reduce the fine lines. To prevent dryness of the skin after shaving, it is essential to use creams containing a moisturizer.
Just like women, men also love to tan and one of the effects of excessive sunning has been the development of skin problems like sun spots, premature aging of the skin, dryness and development of fine lines. Despite the use of suntan lotions, the ravages of the sun on the skin cannot always be prevented.

There is no one magic men’s skincare product that works for all individuals. Some men have fair skin, others have soft skin and yet others may have a very oily or hairy skin. But no matter what product one buys, it is important to choose one which is made from natural ingredients.
